I miss skiing but.....

Seriously. This picture is just funny. It has absolutely nothing to do with this particular blog, but I found it as I was downloading pictures from my phone. My husband is one special guy.

Back to the point. I can't ski. I tried, but my lack of balance (due to the squirmy bowling ball in my belly) makes me look like I'm a beginner and quite frankly I'm afraid of falling on the little dude. He's still baking, so I don't want him to come out early. Fortunately for me this snow this year has been dismal, so I don't pine for the slopes quite as much as I would if there was day after day of beautiful powder snow. I have found different ways to enjoy the winter, as you will see below. Isaac, Jake, Trout, Bear, Chico and I decided to play around on a very frozen pond that's a just 5 min. from our house.

We made this guy somewhat out in the middle of the pond. I decided to call him Mr. Belvedere (remember that show?) because his eyes and buttons are made of chocolate truffles...talk about sophisticated.

What would playing on a frozen pond be without a snow angel??

It's not skiing, but it was a heck of a time. We'll see how long this little butler lasts.

Isaac is 8!!!

Well, he turned 8 on the 30th of December, I'm just such a bad blogger I haven't posted about it yet. So here is an outline of his day:

He woke up at Grandma Betsy's house who, in case you didn't know, is the greatest Grandma in the whole wide world. She took him and his cousin Fischer to the Aquarium in Sandy and to Chucky Cheese! Isaac got to open his presents before they went and one of them was a camera, so he took a bunch of pictures of the fun they had. Before Grandma Betsy brought him to me (I had to work all day-very sad..) Isaac picked out a birthday cake. I believe it was his second cake that day. Isaac and I then drove out to the Kamas pool where we met up with Dad aka Mohawkbeardguy and Isaac's cousins Zippy and Izard. We swam for an hour and a half- jumped off the high dive (ok, just Jake and I did that), went down the big slide and just plain played around. Afterwards, we went to the Kamas pizza place and Isaac opened up his presents and ate cake and pizza with his cousins. As we drove home from Kamas, Isaac turned to me and said, "This is the best birthday ever!"

Success.

P.S. Happy New Years!
